Bees symbolize hard work and diligence on the one hand, but are also linked with eloquent speech, song and wealth from the production of honey. In the parable of Samson (Judges xiv, 8) the bee appears in this same sense. Orphic teaching called souls bees because they migrate from the hive in swarms like souls swarmingfrom divine unity. They also represent monarchic structure, because of their loyalty to the queen.
